Zbrush stuff (work in progress)

doing some Zbrush training in work, as a result started knocking around with it in my spare time. my affliction of constantly drawing dinosaurs has now reached the 3D digital medium as you can see from the results.
still have lots of skin detail to do, but its a nice start i think :)

Pit Bot- Making Of: Part 4

Last year I posted several articles about the making of my Model-Making college project the 'Pit Bot'. I realized that i never followed up with the promised final Part 4, so a year later, here it is!
you can read the previous entries here..

So the Bot was pretty much complete, as you can see here..

There were several graphics i had that tied in with the other part of the project, Craig Kane's racing ship, the Gravicle. some were real companies like Pepakura designer, Quoo juice (a favourite of ours when we visited Singapore). there were companies then that i had either bought stuff from to make the pit bot and then a few big brands. I sent them all to a printer and they printed clear decals and also white backed decals.

After application I proceeded to paint wear and tear all over the bot- paint scratches, oil stains etc..
here are the final images, and also images of how the bot looked recently when it was a resident of Brown Bag Films studio.

Thanks all, hope you enjoyed the whole 'Making of' Series!

Dragons, Balrogs and Wolves- a week of Sketching

A week off work, a chance to do some extra scribbles and doodles! for a change, regular viewers will notice there are no Dinosaurs or Aliens. You're welcome.

I had the idea of doing a painting of the Balrog Vs Gandalf on a large canvas I have. some thumbnail doodles below prove that I started looking into this idea.

Boom- a robot, I gave up aliens and dinos for this post but this guy snuck in!

Avengers of Roarsville!

and on that note I thought it would be a good time to share a Hugglemonster mash-up that was done earlier in the year (But had not been able to post it due to an unreleased character)

So here it is, a Monstery version of Marvel's Avengers.

each character was done with Pen and Watercolor on brown card before being slapped together in a New York scene.

First, Henry as Cap' Merica!

Cobby the inventor as Iron Man!

Summer as Black Widow

Denzel as the God of Thunder- THOR!

The mighty Estelle as Hulk

and finally the bad-guy, Roddy as Loki

Vehicle thingys

Instead of attempting to scribble odd robots and dinosaurs, I've decided to attempt to scribble some trucks and ships instead. Although I see now one of them has kind of robot-esque legs.. Dammit!

More Kaiju

Some more Kaiju doodles, more watercolors. I think this could become a new epidemic on this blog, much like aliens, robots and dinosaurs already infect the place.

Lunchtime Kaiju

Saw Pacific Rim on the weekend, blown away by everything, particularly the creature design, so when i was out at lunch yesterday I decided to have a go at some of my own Kaiju designs. A bit rough and ready, but tonnes of fun. (about 26,000 tonnes to be exact)

I don't have a timeframe for that happening however.
