New Sculptures

Some sculpts i have been playing with over the last while.

the first is a small bust of my interpretation of 'killer croc' from batman. this was an exercise which is intend to be finally cast in resin. i started out with a quick sculpt in soft grey wax

after making a quick block mould in Alginate i cast it in some hard green wax so i could clean up and refine the sculpt further. the hard wax is very difficult to work in i found.these next two are quick sketch sculpts just trying to practice anatomy in motion, they were completed in under 2 1/2 hours each..

Kroenen Inspired Helmet

a prop helmet i just completed for my brothers birthday. the basic shape came from the airsoft mask i made last summer. it was sanded and filled and cut to become the Kroenen stlyle helmet, the lower mouthparts are the lid of a Lego Bionicle box and the back of a computer mouse. the interior is faux leather. the resin greeble bits are leftovers from my Pit Bot and a few new cast pieces.

I'm hoping to do some more paintings like this, I'm quite happy with this one. it started off as a rough sketch and then painted up in a couple of hours. below is the process i used.

Custom Yamaha ERG 121

hey all!
ive just recently finished doing a custom electric guitar.
my old glossy black yamaha, it had some scratches on the body which gave me an excuse to strip the thick acrylic laminate off it and do my own designs. originaly i was going to do a paint job but then discovered the coolness of wood burning ( or pyrography- greek for 'fire writing')

heres an image of what my guitar looked like before (i dont have a photo of mine before)

and heres what it looks like after....

Final BBF Sculpting Class

attended the final sculpting class in work on tues night, i had an armature ready and just started sculpting, i then decided it to be a D9 prawn (Wikus to be exact, he's missing his thumb) its not fully accurate, its missing a limb joint and some proportions are off but i was working from pure memory and all in 90 mins :)
