January Update; New Year, New Stuff!

 Kicking off the new years Bloggage with some bits and pieces I've been working on.

Zombie- 2016 version
I poured some Molten chavant into the old Zombie animator mould from 2014, and then completely re sculpted the bust, re positioning the head, and fixing issues with proportion. pretty happy with the progress so far, I feel that I have learned loads in the past year

Quick speed 'sketch' in clay of an alien, I'm gonna make a quick mould of this and make fridge magnets out of him!

 

 Alien Bust update

More progress being slowly made with the larger bust. made a mould of the headpiece and cast out a fiberglass version (in grey) and set that into the sculpture, then i roughly attached the nodes and began incorporating the whole thing together.

 

 

as winters are cold in the shed and I'm planning on a 3D printer in 2016, I started designing some armour for the bust in Zbrush, will post more on that in the coming weeks.

Work in Progress Zbrush Alien

Wip post before the long weekend.
 took a proper crack at a character last night. looked back at one of my old sketches and decided to work into him a bit, ended up with a sculpt that i then Posed with the transpose tools, but have since scrapped and contuinued to work into the sculpt some more (also brought his head down and forward so he is more hunchback.. going to fully finish him over the long weekend

New Year, New Stuff..

G'day folks! Happy new year! thought i'd start the year by inflicting some blog updates on you all.

Starting off its the WIP update to my Trex Zbrush sculpt, starting into color, scales etc.. (lets face it, it wouldn't be a post by me without a Dinosaur of some description)

 

Some walking dead inspired Zombies here, sketched while re-watching the first season with my brother.

on a bit of a Tolkien buzz at the moment (who isn't after the latest Hobbit movie??), wizards and Orcs are on my mind, there is a dragon in there somewhere too, he will find his way onto paper soon, or perhaps into Zbrush..

Zbrush stuff (work in progress)

doing some Zbrush training in work, as a result started knocking around with it in my spare time. my affliction of constantly drawing dinosaurs has now reached the 3D digital medium as you can see from the results.
still have lots of skin detail to do, but its a nice start i think :)
